WNN Monday Movie Review: Reminders Of Him

Does Someone Deserve A Second Chance?

Posted

Cherryville, NC (WNN) - The movie Reminders of Him is coming to an end in movie theaters. The PG-13-rated movie released by Universal Pictures on March 13th, 2026, has gotten mixed reviews, so we thought we'd give it a shot. It's basically a romantic chick flick about motherhood, mistakes, love, and forgiveness. Based on the 2022 novel by Colleen Hoover, it picks up after a mother, Kenna Rowan, played by Maika Monroe, returns to her small town in search of her daughter. Kenna spends time in prison before returning home, only to find memories and hardship in finding her daughter. She meets former NFL player Ledger Ward, played by Tyriq Withers, and the film centers around the two and the daughter. Another notable name in the film is Lainey Wilson, who plays Amy Matthews as an assistant store manager. This is Wilson's first feature film debut. Other main actors include Bradley Whitford, Lauren Graham, Rudy Pankow, and Zoe Kosovic.

The 1-hour, 55-minute movie is fairly slow and non-eventful. The plot is fairly predictable. However, to avoid giving the movie away, what you think happened actually plays out slightly differently. At times, the content can be emotionally intense, but it doesn't last very long. There are a few flaws in the movie's filming, but most will not notice.

The Hoot Rating - 3  For "Reminders Of Him"

Overall, I'll give it 3 Hoots, it's a good date-night movie, but easily forgettable. However, when it hits streaming, it's worth watching if you like chick flicks.
