Academy Street Closed As Duke Energy Repairs Substation

Cherryville, NC (WNN)—West Academy Street is closed in Cherryville, NC, today, October 24th, 2025, while Duke Energy repairs the damaged substation. The closure is in the 600 block of West Academy Street from Styers Street to Sigmon Street. The repairs are for the damage caused to the substation on the evening of October 22nd.
