Hickory, NC (WNN)— North Carolina residents will soon savor a taste of Texas as Whataburger has officially begun construction on its first restaurant in the state. The expansion marks a significant milestone for the beloved fast-food chain as it aims to bring its iconic burgers to multiple cities across the state.
First Location Breaks Ground in Hickory
On Tuesday morning, the company hosted a special ceremony at 2060 U.S. Highway 70 SE in Hickory to commemorate the opening of its newest location which is set to open in early summer. This restaurant marks a significant milestone, as it will be one of the first Whataburger establishments to open in North Carolina. The company has plans to expand its presence in the state, with several more Whataburger locations expected to be built across North Carolina soon, bringing the brand’s popular offerings to even more communities.

Additionally, Whataburger established a meat processing facility in Atlanta to ensure a reliable beef supply. The company also sponsored the Concert for the Carolinas, a benefit organized by Luke Combs to raise funds for Hurricane Helene relief. The company officially announced its expansion into North Carolina last year.
