North Carolina (WNN) - Have you been hungry for some mush? Chances are, you went to your local grocery store and could not find a brand like Neese's in stock. This is because Neese's Livermush and Liver Pudding is experiencing a shortage in multiple stores across the state, making it hard to find livermush in our small town of Cherryville, North Carolina.
The shortage comes after the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) detected listeria contamination at its Greensboro manufacturing facility, which led to a halt in production and distribution.
If you are looking for alternatives, local brands like Jenkins, Mack's, and Corriher are still readily available in local stores. In fact, in our recent article on the Livermush Festival, Corriher was unofficially named 'Top Mush'. You can read all about it in the article listed here.
