Cherryville High School Band Raises Nearly $1,000 at First-Ever Car and Bike Showcase

Cherryville, NC (WNN) - On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the Cherryville High School Marching Band hosted a fundraiser to support the upcoming 2026 spring band season.

The CHS Ironmen Band Car and Bike Showcase brought together musicians, students, alumni, and vehicle enthusiasts to explore a diverse display of cars and motorcycles. Registration for participants was $25, while admission for attendees was free. Running from 9 am to 4 pm, the event featured food trucks and a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

  • Best People's Choice - Chris Greeson 1950 Dodge Coronet
  • Student Choice - Wayne Byars - 2016 Sling Shot
  • Best in Show - Dale Eaton - 1967 Chevelle Chevy
  • Director's Choice - Alvin Hutchins - 1955 Chevy Bel Air
  • Best Classic - James Parker Jr. - 1964 Ford Falcon
  • Best Modern - Tripp Upton - 1992 Pontiac Firebird
  • Best Motorcycle - John Fotch - 2017 Indian Chief Vintage
  • Best Woodwind - Mark Neal - 1967 Ford Galaxie
  • Best Percussion - John Watson - 1931 Chevy TK - Rat Rod
  • Best Brass - Chris Greeson - 1950 Dodge Coronet

The CHS Marching Band Trophies would like to thank Trophies Forever for sponsoring the trophies presented to registered participants. 

A First-Year Success

The showcase concluded shortly after an awards ceremony held in the CHS parking lot. In its first year, the event successfully raised $950.57 for the marching band.
