Crash Causes One Death in Cherryville

Cherryville, NC (WNN) โ€“ One person has died, and another has been hospitalized following a collision on Lincolnton Hwy (Hwy 150) between the intersections of Dick Beam Rd and Bud Black Rd in Cherryville, NC. The collision happened around 8:41 AM on June 27th, 2024. 

According to WBTV news reports and NC State Troopers, a Chevrolet truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Kia. The Kiaโ€™s driver, Loretta Bradley Howell, age 55, of Cherryville, was killed at the scene of ther crash. 

The truck was driven by Nathan Lee Reinhardt, age 39, of Cherryville, who was taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center and charged with death by motor vehicle, crossing the center line, reckless driving, and driving while intoxicated. Reinhardt is being held with a $500,000 secured bond in the Gaston County Jail.
