Noble Artistry Blossoms at Its Cherryville Location

CHERRYVILLE, NC (WNN) – As Cherryville welcomes the arrival of spring, it’s not just the outdoor flowers that are new to town. Noble Artistry, a flower and gift shop, recently held its ribbon cutting. Now, residents can enjoy the beautiful blooms of spring in nature and their homes.

Upon entering the store, the first thing that I noticed was the sweet smell of flowers. Spring officially begins on March 19, but it has already sprung inside of Noble Artistry. After chatting with the owner, I discovered that the shop was sweet in more ways than one.

Although Noble Artistry is new to Cherryville, its Lincolnton, North Carolina, location has thrived since 2021. Cyndi Jo Brady is the owner of both shops. Cherryville’s downtown director, David Day, contacted Brady and asked her to consider opening a location on Main Street.

“We were having so much fun in the Lincolnton shop, and we were reached out by David Day and he mentioned to us that they were looking for a florist because they had not had one for a while,” said Brady.

When she stepped foot into the vacant storefront on Main Street she knew it was the perfect place for Noble Artistry’s second location. Cherryville is known as the city “where life blossoms,” and Brady knew Noble Artistry would fit that narrative.

Everything Brady does for her business is done with care. From intricately designed bouquets, down to her employees, who are her mother and daughter. Brady calls this venture a generational flower power.

“It is three generations. My mother and then my daughter and myself, so that is why we call ourselves generational flower power,” explained Brady.

Brady’s passion for the floral industry stems from her childhood. Her grandfather had a greenhouse and she loved to watch him work; another degree of the generational flower power. 

While some teenagers choose to work in a restaurant for their first job Brady worked at a flower shop.

“I started in the floral business when I was 15 … and then from 15 to 25 all the way through college, that’s what I did,” said Brady.

After finishing her degree, Brady put her career as a florist on hold to explore other passions. She worked as a hospice nurse for almost 30 years, helping people facing end-of-life journeys find comfort and support. 

Her return to the floral industry, while emotionally healing, was prompted by the tragic loss of her father. He died in 2021, prompting her to open Noble Artistry in his honor. Her father was from Noble Illinois, inspiring the name of her new venture. 

Noble Artistry quickly became an outlet for her family to grieve and honor her father at the same time. 

“When my dad passed away in 21, my mother was feeling a little isolated and lonely, so she came aboard to help,” said Brady. 

Between her father’s passing and her experience as a hospice nurse, Brady understands the emotional side of the floral industry.

Many of her patrons request arrangements for funerals. As a woman who has experienced personal loss and witnessed how death can impact others, she learned important lessons about meeting her customers in the middle.

“Meet people where they are. If they come in and they’re looking for a casket piece for their mom, sometimes they may well up with tears and it’s just the grace of giving them that moment,” said Brady.

There are many reasons why customers might be emotional when selecting arrangements. Whether it is a bride beginning her life with the man of her dreams or a family saying goodbye to a loved one, Brady uses the compassion she learned from hospice to be the best floral professional she can be.

Additionally, she believes that customizing tribute pieces and arrangements can be a perfect way to honor an occasion. She shared an instance where a young man with a love for horses died. She crafted his funeral arrangement out of a horseback-riding saddle and his lasso.

“We try to do what would be the most important to the person that’s ordering the flowers,” said Brady.

Noble Artistry provides fresh floral arrangements, silk flowers, and unique gifts, including multi-purpose lotion candles handmade by the owner and her husband. Brady said they can make arrangements for just about anything.

“We do fresh flowers, as I mentioned. So that could be a birthday arrangement, anniversary arrangement, Mother’s Day, prom corsages, boutonnieres, weddings, or funerals. And then we also do silk flowers,” said Brady.
