New Location Searched In Asha Degree Case

Cherryville, NC (WNN) — On Friday, April 4th, 2025, multiple agencies, including the FBI and SBI, searched a property in Lincoln County as part of the investigation into Asha Degree’s disappearance. The property located at 6020 NC 182 Hwy is just three miles north of Cherryville and contains several buildings along Highway 274 and NC 182. It is directly across from the North Brook Fire Department in Cherryville.

Official Statement from Law Enforcement

In a press release, the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that they, along with the FBI and the SBI, conducted the search. They also acknowledged the assistance of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in the search. The current property owner gave consent for the search and is not connected to the ongoing investigation.

The release further emphasized that no further information about the nature or outcome of the search would be released, citing the need to protect the integrity of the investigation. The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for their continued support in their efforts to find Asha Degree, who left her home in the early morning hours on February 14th, 2000. Additionally, they continue to urge anyone with information directly related to the investigation to call 704-484-4756.

Property’s Past Ownership Revealed

According to Deed Records, the property was once owned by Roy Lee and Connie Dedmon, who are the parents of Lizzie Foster. Lizzie Foster’s phone was taken by police as evidence in Asha Degree’s case.

These records show the Dedmons sold the property back in 2004. It has since been sold to different people several times and is now allegedly owned by a bank. This bank allowed investigators to search the buildings.
