Man Fatally Killed During Armed Robbery in Kings Mountain

Kings Mountain, NC (WNN)- On Wednesday morning, a shooting occurred during an armed robbery involving an armored truck in a parking lot in Kings Mountain. Police responded to a call at the Prescriptions Plus Pharmacy on East King Street around 8:45 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered an employee of the Loomis truck suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored Jeep Compass following the Loomis van and circling it before the incident. During a press conference, Kings Mountain Police Chief Gerald Childress noted that the investigation is still in its early stages, and authorities have not yet identified the suspect. Currently, they only know that the individual fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV. The victim was servicing the pharmacy’s ATM at the time of the shooting. While police found cash scattered on the ground, it remains unclear how much, if any, was taken by the shooter.
