Cherryville, NC (WNN) – The WNN News Crew set out to see if we could cook an egg in this blistering heat we’ve been having in Summer 2024. We attempted cooking an egg in several settings, including hot pavement, the hood of a car, and inside a vehicle. The outside Fahrenheit temperatures were near 100 degrees with over 112 heat indexes. The temperatures ranged from 125 degrees to over 175 degrees in these test locations and surfaces. We filmed our attempts to cook an egg to show how hot things can get, especially inside the vehicle.

This Summer, please follow these rules, as pets and people die every year from neglect and heat.

  • Never Leave a Pet or Child in a Car
  • Never Walk a Pet on Hot Pavement
  • Make Sure Pets Have an Adequate Water Supply
