Gaston’s Rising Star and Senior Kicked Out of School

Gaston County, NC (WNN) – In November 2023, Wise News Network had the unique opportunity to interview Bailey Marie Griggs, also known as Bailey Marie, in her singing career. She was a junior in high school then, so we had to plan our studio interview around her school schedule.
Bailey Marie has been busy singing at various venues, ceremony-opening National Anthems, etc. WNN has been to several events where she has performed, singing some originals and song covers. Never have we witnessed anything out of the way, just a young girl trying to make it in the tough music business.
As with any upcoming high school senior, Bailey looked forward to her senior year until her mother, Jennifer Griggs, received an email last week from Cramerton Christian School. The email stated that Bailey did not conform to the school’s handbook, which forbids students from gathering at bars and nightclubs that serve alcohol or have drugs present. Thus, she was not eligible for classes her senior year.
In today’s world, you will be hard-pressed to find any significant venue that does not serve alcohol where people gather to hear music. Cramerton Christian School in Cramerton, NC, a private school, can enforce its handbook. However, is the rule enforced across all students? Is the rule enforced across all teachers and employees? WNN has reached out to Cramerton Christian School but has yet to hear a reply as of this article’s release.
This disciplinary action also raises questions about the newly approved vouchers by the NC State Legislators, under which taxpayers now help fund private school enrollment. If there is supposed to be a separation between church and state, this is just an example of murky waters that the state and church can enter using taxpayer money, especially when the rules could dictate a student’s education or career based on religion or ideology.
One of the next larger venues scheduled for the rising star Baily Marie is Coyote Joe’s in Charlotte, NC, on August 9th, 2024.
