The Kentucky Derby Party

The Cherryville High School Education Foundation (CHSEF) is hosting an exciting fundraising event. Bring your most colorful hat and join Cherryville High School in its Kentucky Derby Party.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 4, at the Baker Buffalo Creek Vineyard in Waco, N.C., from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The purpose of this event is to raise funds for a 21st-century science lab at Cherryville High School.

The science lab would benefit every student at CHS, stated Nan Davis, a representative with CHSEF. The school’s goal is to provide each science class with access to the lab once a week for experiments. This would enhance the students’ practical applications of concepts they learn in the classroom.

The event coincides with the 2024 Kentucky Derby, which will occur on May 4 in Louisville, Kentucky. The Kentucky Derby is a classic American tradition that is known for horse races, spectacular springtime attire and friendly wagers. This is the 150 Annual Kentucky Derby.

Guests of the CHSEF Kentucky Derby Party can expect an array of activities including food, mint juleps, music, outdoor games and dress contests.

Additionally, attendees can watch the horse races and bet on their favorite horses.

Tickets for the Kentucky Derby Party are priced at $50 and can be purchased at the door. Join the Cherryville community on a day of celebrating the spirit of philanthropy and making a meaningful impact on the future of education.

The hardworking art students of Cherryville High School and Webb Street School have been sitting on an exciting surprise. The two schools have joined forces to display an adaptive fashion show on May 18, 5:00 p.m., at the Loray Mill Lofts in Gastonia.

Cherryville High School students partnered with Webb Street School students to craft colorful and expressive designs. It is a student-led project with each pair being responsible for putting together a look.
