Cherryville, NC (WNN)โ€”Around 2:30 p.m. on May 27th, 2025, a vacuum tanker overturned after a crash on Highway 150. According to first responders, the truck rear-ended the USPS mail carrier before overturning. Lake Norman Sewer and Septic LLC owns the vacuum tanker.

Both drivers sustained injuries but are not believed to have any fatal or life-threatening injuries at this time. There was minimal spillage from the tanker, which was carrying sewage. Currently, Lake Norman Sewer and Septic is successfully transferring the contents into a second tanker to prepare the overturned truck for righting.

On-scene authorities estimate that the highway will be free of debris and back into normal operation by 4:00 p.m. If possible, avoid the area on Highway 150 from the Cherryville Walmart to the Country Club during this time.
