Cherryville Shooting Suspect in Custody

Cherryville, NC (WNN) – A woman in Cherryville has been taken into custody after a shooting incident at 402 W. First Street. Police were called at around 8:36 PM on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, to respond to a shooting and possible barricade situation per Cherryville Police.

When officers arrived, they found a 53-year-old male, William Stiles, with multiple gunshot wounds in the front yard of the residence.

The suspect, 50-year-old Julie Elaine Stiles, was found on the front porch and was taken into custody without incident. William Stiles was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Julie Stiles has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, and she is being held without bond in the Gaston County jail.
