Cherryville Police Release Statement Pertaining To Elementary School Embezzlement

Cherryville, NC (WNN)— The Cherryville Police have released information regarding the embezzlement incident involving a Cherryville Elementary School employee.

Investigation and Findings

According to their most recent press release, on February 26, 2025, the Cherryville Police Department received a report of an employee embezzling money from Gaston County Schools (Cherryville Elementary). A criminal investigation was completed, which showed the employee had embezzled approximately $9000.00 during this school year.

Arrest and Charges

Helaine Marie Davis, 264 Mauney Farm Road, Cherryville, NC 28021, was interviewed and made a full
confession. Warrants were obtained for Embezzlement, which were served by Gastonia Police on Friday,
March 7, 2025. Mrs. Davis received a $10,000.00 secure bond.
