The most extended item on the agenda was a presentation by City Marketing Coordinator Steve Panton on the Standards for Buildings, Grounds, and Structures in the Cherryville Business District. The regulations are basically an “HOA” guideline for the Cherryville Downtown Business District. They include rules for items such as vacant buildings, awnings, windows, colors, flowers, signage, broken glass, boarded windows, etc. The City of Cherryville will enforce fines and penalties for non-repaired items, vacant building times, etc. At this time, the City plans to have an Informal Citizen Information Meeting on November 20th (location to be determined) and a Public Meeting with a City Council Vote on February 10th, 2025.
