Cherryville Chamber of Commerce Warns Residents About Scammers

CHERRYVILLE, NC (WNN) – Cherryville Chamber of Commerce warns Cherry Blossom Festival vendors about scammer impersonators.

In a recent statement posted to theย Chamber’s Facebook page, the organization emphasized the importance of protecting personal information and payments.ย 

“Please do not give your information or payment to anyone that is not affiliated with the Cherryville Chamber of Commerce,” the statement read.

Residents and vendors are advised to only engage with emails sent from accounts with “@cityofcherryville.com” addresses.

The Chamber clarified that they do not accept card payments of any kind, including those made through platforms like PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo.

“We have multiple scammers trying to impersonate us to collect on vendor fees for the Cherry Blossom Festival. Please do not fall victim,” the Chamber cautioned.

The Chamber emphasized the importance of vigilance and encouraged anyone who encounters suspicious activity or communications to report it promptly.

As the Cherryville community prepares for upcoming events and engagements, the Chamber emphasizes the necessity of remaining cautious against fraudulent schemes and protecting personal and financial information.

This is a common occurrence when the Chamber puts on events. Residents should also be cautious for future events as well. The best way to ensure the protection of personal information is to only interact with verifiable email addresses and accounts.
