Mammogram Bus Makes Healthcare Accessible at Cherryville YMCA

CHERRYVILLE, NC (WNN) – March is globally recognized as Women’s History Month. What better way to celebrate than by utilizing the mobile mammogram bus at Cherryville Family YMCA?ย
On Thursday, March 21, 2024, the CaroMont Health Mobile Mammography Bus will be stationed at the Cherryville YMCA, providing access to 3D mammography scans for the community.
CaroMont Health operates the Mobile Mammography Bus to ensure accessible care in areas where scheduling mammograms might be challenging.
The bus will be available at the YMCA from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants can register at the front desk or by calling the YMCA at (704) 445-9622.
Insurance will be billed for the mammography event. Gaston County residents without insurance may be eligible for grant funding to cover the mammogram cost. For funding concerns, contact the YMCA for resources regarding potential grant eligibility.
Uninsured women with payment concerns can access free mammograms through the Cleveland County Public Health Department. This initiative is affiliated with the North Carolina Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program. For more details, call (704) 484-5100.
