Walmart Launches Refrigerated Prescription Delivery in North Carolina

Posted

North Carolina, (WNN)—Walmart just became the first retailer to offer refrigerated and reconstituted prescription delivery—including insulin, GLP-1s, and pediatric amoxicillin—together with groceries and everyday essentials in a single order.

The service is now live in North Carolina, making it easier and faster for local families to get the medications and items they need delivered right to their door. With this change, Walmart is now able to deliver more than 90% of pharmacy medications to customers.

Key benefits for families in North Carolina:

  • Convenience: Prescriptions arrive in insulated packaging that maintains safe temperatures for up to three hours, ensuring quality and peace of mind.
  • Access: Customers can have antibiotics for a sick child delivered along with groceries like soup and orange juice—saving time and avoiding an extra trip.
  • Speed: Walmart has fulfilled over 4 million pharmacy deliveries since launch, with some orders arriving in as little as nine minutes.
  • Value: Walmart’s industry-leading $4 generic Prescription Program is also eligible for delivery.
