Cherryville, NC (WNN) - Strong thunderstorms continue to move across North Carolina, bringing flooding, downed trees, and hazardous driving conditions to several communities. While Gaston County has largely avoided the worst impacts so far, areas to the north have experienced significant storm damage.
In Iredell County, Murdock Road is closed due to flooding. Meanwhile, in Statesville, a downed tree caused a traffic accident on East Broad Street, prompting first responders to the scene. Reports of localized flooding and fallen trees have also been coming in from the Charlotte area as heavy rain continues.
Residents are encouraged to avoid driving through flooded roadways, use caution around downed trees and power lines, and monitor local weather alerts as storms continue across the state.
