Cherryville, NC (WNN) - The 2026 Annual Cherry Blossom festival was as exciting as always, with plenty of vendors, on-stage entertainment, and rides for the kids. The weather cooperated just long enough for the festival to complete its activities on Saturday afternoon, with rain arriving in full around 4 PM as vendors packed up. This was also the first year that the festival's newest attraction, The Cherry Jam, was held.

As a two-day festival, bystanders can expect something a little different on the first night than on day two. Friday is mainly food trucks and on-stage entertainment. This year, the Tonez took the stage with DJ Johnny B as a huge number of attendees crowded the gazebo mini park. While some remained seated for the show, many could be found dancing at the front of the stage until sunset.

Saturday is by far the largest day for the festival, with vendors lining all of Cherryville’s Main Street. Our own crew could even be spotted at the corner of Mountain and Main Street, handing out Wise News Network koozies and taking photos in front of the festival's only cherry blossoms visible from our booths. This day features many popular activities, such as the Grier Beam Truck Museum Car Show, a plethora of vendors, bounce houses, and more, which you can see in our livestream.

While some acts may have been a little less than pleasant for those with musical inclinations, the Cherry Jam Karaoke competition was enjoyed by all who attended, regardless. This consisted of two rounds on stage. The first was traditional karaoke, with 19 participants each choosing the song they wanted to present to the audience. Only five contestants advanced to the final round, which was a roulette. Each contestant was given their choice of 2 random hit songs and asked to perform them to the best of their ability. While singing outside of their comfort zone threw some of the contestants for a loop, others took the moment to shine. Dontavious Harris took home first with his performance of “I Will Survive”, which came with a plaque and $500. Will Pucket took home second, and Brandon Long took home 3rd.
