Investigation Results in Charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

Cherryville, NC (WNN) - On April 22, 2026, officers with the Cherryville Police Department responded to a 911 open line call at 1104 E. Church Street (Burger King). Upon arrival, officers made contact with the caller, who reported that an individual was allegedly involved in sexual misconduct at that location.

Officers and detectives immediately initiated an investigation. During the course of the investigation, a mobile phone belonging to the suspect was seized, and a search warrant was obtained. Investigators conducted a forensic examination of the device and subsequently obtained an additional search warrant for a residence located at 914 W. Church Street, Cherryville, North Carolina.

As a result of the investigation and evidence obtained through the execution of search warrants, investigators identified illegal images and materials. This led to the arrest of the following individual:

Charges Filed:

• One count of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
• One count of Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
  
  

The suspect is currently being held without bond due to his probation status at the time of arrest.

The Cherryville Police Department extends its appreciation to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction and the Maiden Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
