Interim Fire Chief Colby Heffner Promoted to Fire Chief

         In December 2025, Assistant Chief was promoted to Interim Fire Chief of the Cherryville Fire Department. During this time, Chief Heffner has successfully led the department through several emergency events while carefully analyzing its organizational structure to ensure the highest level of service to our citizens.

Over the past few months, Chief Heffner’s leadership, dedication, and vision have clearly demonstrated that he is fully prepared to serve as the next Fire Chief. His commitment to excellence and to the safety of our community has been evident in both action and results.

Therefore, effective February 24, 2026, please join me in congratulating Chief Heffner on officially being named Fire Chief of the Cherryville Fire Department.
