Elevra Lithium Completes Merger and Reaffirms Commitment to Carolina Project

Posted

North American lithium producer Elevra Lithium Limited (ASX:ELV; NASDAQ:ELVR; OTCQB:SYAXD) (“Elevra” or “Company”) is pleased to announce the completion of its corporate merger between Piedmont Lithium and Sayona Mining.  This marks a significant milestone in strengthening the company’s position as a leading North American supplier of lithium, a critical mineral required to support the global clean energy transition.  With a unified team and expanded technical capabilities, Elevra remains committed to advancing its Carolina Project in Gaston County, North Carolina as a cornerstone of its global project portfolio.

“The Carolina Project is an advanced, strategically located, pre-development site in North Carolina and a key asset within Elevra’s development portfolio,” said Lucas Dow, Managing Director & CEO of Elevra Lithium.  “We are focused on building a responsible operation that contributes to the local economy, supports the clean energy growth, and reflects the values of Gaston County and its communities.”

As part of its development plan, Elevra Lithium will continue to collaborate closely with Gaston County, the City of Cherryville and state leaders to ensure the project aligns with community goals and meets regulatory expectations.  Elevra has demonstrated mine development and operations capability as evidenced by the successful ramp up and operation of its North American Lithium spodumene mine in Quebec.  The company’s leadership has emphasized its intent to further enhance the operational credibility and technical strength of the project by partnering with experienced technical operators for the downstream chemical processing part of the Carolina Project.
Over the course of calendar year 2026, Elevra Lithium plans to re-engage with community members, landowners and county and state leaders to share project updates and gather input on the next phase of development.  “We’re committed to doing this the right way,” said Malissa Gordon, Vice President of Government Affairs.  “That means taking the time to plan responsibly, listen to local perspectives, and ensure the project is a long-term success for our neighbors, employees, and the broader region.  By taking a careful, measured approach, Elevra will build a project that stands the test of time to benefit everyone involved.”

Elevra acknowledges strong U.S. federal government support for domestic critical mineral projects like the Carolina Project, particularly under President Trump’s stated commitment to strengthening the nation’s clean energy and manufacturing supply chains and will continue to explore opportunities for collaboration and funding with government partners.

In the near term, the company’s focus will be working directly with landowners in and around the existing mine permit area to ensure transparency and cooperation as the project progresses.

“Elevra Lithium is more than a name change – Elevra Lithium is an operating business with hands-on experience and success in mine development and production,” said Dow. “Our goal is to be recognized as a serious and capable operator, with the expertise and integrity to deliver on our commitments and contribute to the communities where we work.”
