Cherryville, NC (WNN) - Angela Wiley, a local Cherryville resident, has transformed her property into a nature oasis where families are encouraged to disconnect from their phones and reconnect with each other.

Timbers Farmstead

Timbers Farmstead is a small, quaint venue set against the backdrop of a quiet farmhouse and a hidden oasis. Wiley says the idea came years ago while she was teaching, but it wasn't until after the pandemic that she decided to act on it.

Wiley says Timbers was created in response to what she sees as a growing disconnect among families.

"If you go to a restaurant today, you see people not communicating with each other because of distractions...some of that being phones."

Phone Policy

While phones aren't banned at Timbers Farmstead, visitors are strongly encouraged to put them away or keep them in a vehicle to focus on spending time together. Wiley says the goal is to return families to simpler moments, something she connects to her own childhood memories.

Timbers Farmstead is not designed for large crowds; its focus is on hosting intimate events such as family gatherings, seasonal markets, and activities, such as the upcoming Hello Spring Market.
