Gastonia, NC (WNN) - Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement is searching for a woman who left eight puppies to die in a cardboard box at the old Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement location in Dallas Park.

According to their Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement Facebook page, the puppies are reported to be found alive and well just hours after being left behind.
According to the NC Animal Abandonment law, any person who willfully leaves the animal behind will face a Class 2 misdemeanor charge.
Anyone with information about the unidentified suspect is asked to call 704-866-3300.
